Arthur: Knight of the Realm

This Project was developed as my Final Project as part of my Bachelors degree, it is a small scale open world game exploring how detail in level design, story can affect immersion. This was a fully functioning completed project.

Proxima Crusades

This Project was developed as part of a Game Design project for a University course. The idea was that of a RTS set across 4 planets each with similar but different types of magic and appearance, with the player playing a major role in the wars between the three main planets over the fourth. This was a pure design project, no prototype or playable version available.

Space Mechanic

This project was created as a group development project for a university class. The project was designed as a small puzzle game in which the player walks around a damaged ship and tries to escape the ship by repairing parts of the ship. This was a fully functioning completed project.

3D Level Design Project

This Project was created as a two man level design project for a university class. The project was designed as a large open level with various storytelling aspects around the level and included notes that could be found to explain more of the story of the level. This was a fully functioning completed project.

7 Day 'jam' like projects

These are projects I worked on over the course of roughly 56 hours of work (thats about 7, 8 hour days) not necessarily created in 7 days straight but a total of 7 worked days on them. I structured these projects on the basis of a game jam meaning that I follow a theme and must work on something new for that project. These games are prototypes with a functionality focus, meaning visual aspects are not considered as much and minimal art creation is done for the games.

This project was been designed as a top down real time ship management game in which you must progressively jump further into space and reach the goal of 8 jumps, along the way there are chances of enemies getting in you way to hinder your progress or destroy your ship.

Theme: Arena

Arena

This project is still in progress. It is planned as a combat arena action game with wave based gameplay.

Technical Feature Prototypes

These are small projects focused on the development of a specific feature prototype

Character Creator

This is a small scale character creator prototype involving changing character mesh, hair mesh, and texture applied in runtime as well as in engine to allow for creating a varied amount of NPC's from a single blueprint

Minions controls

Minion Controls from Overlord

This is a small scale controls prototype based on the controls of minions in the game Overlord. It involves the ability to send a group of minions to a designated location either individually or as a group, recall them back to the player, as well as to possess each of them in succession for direct control.

Hex Terrain Generation

Hex Terrain Generation

This was a small project built as part of a freelance gig. this involved generating the terrain for a hex based landscape in the style of the civilisation games, specifically just ensuring the terrain generated would spawn and assign a terrain type to the relevant hex.

In Progress Design Projects

These are larger design projects which are currently still being developed and fleshed out over time. this will primarily be filled with projects still in ideation or with an unfinished design document or unfinished prototype. in some cases not all of the information related to the project will be present or have been updated onto the document.

Bandit Lord

This is intended as a design for an open world game in which the player is a bandit/thief in charge of his own gang and has to build his way up to controlling a large force of bandits to form an army of sorts to carve out a bandit kingdom.
