The Idea

Space Mechanic is a 3D adventure game, influenced by the concept of Escape The Car. You are a Mechanic and you must find the appropriate items to repair your ship and escape.

This games was written and designed by myself and a team of two others. It is set in a futuristic world in which humanity has escaped began exploring the universe, the player is a mechanic on board a star ship which has been severely damaged and evacuated. The player must use what they find in the environment to find a way off of the ship they are on.

Designed as a short puzzle game 'Space Mechanic' was a game developed within University with a group of other students. I created the level designs and programmed several set pieces and features

Main Features

 - Point and interact system

 - Blueprinted door and elevator system for ease of placement

 - Item pickup system integrated with point interaction system

 - Linear story across 3 levels after tutorial

My Contribution

For this Project I was the Main Level Designer, Programmer and Asset developer. I created 4 separate levels in the game. I also designed and created several simple 3D Models in Maya for this project, along with this several other assets where created in Unreal using Box Brushes and converted into static meshes. I also implemented the games main features such as the inventory, interaction component and level specific events through scripting.
